Girls’ Programs
LETA Solutions works to end violence by working collaboratively to build the capacity of service organizations and by working directly with girls with disabilities to address the violence that impacts their lives.
Current Program

15th Annual Her Power! Her Pride! Her Voice!
July 23–26, 2026 · Camp Fish Tales, Pinconning, MI
Our flagship four-day overnight event for middle and high school girls (cis, trans, and non-binary) with disabilities. Through art-based activities, workshops, and community, girls find their power, celebrate disability pride, and use their voice. All staff are disabled women, trauma-informed, and background-checked. Personal care attendants, a 24-hour nurse, and inclusive menus are provided. Registration is open.
Inclusion, Belonging & Assistive Technology Support
We’re happy to work directly with girls with disabilities and with the organizations that serve them on inclusion, belonging, assistive technology, and the practical technical support that makes participation possible.

For Girls with Disabilities and Their Families
Want to join a program — a summer camp, a sports team, an after-school activity, a club — but aren’t sure how to talk about what you need? We can help you think through what inclusion and belonging look like for you, what questions to ask the program, and how to describe the assistive technology or supports that would help you participate fully. Just a conversation focused on you belonging.
For Organizations Working to Include All Girls
We partner with organizations that want to include girls with disabilities in their programs but aren’t sure where to start. Whether you’re adapting an existing program, training staff, troubleshooting assistive technology needs, or building inclusion from the ground up, we can help. We approach this work through disability pride and belonging.

Past Programming Available for Your Organization

The programs below have been offered in the past and can be brought back for your organization or community on a fee-for-service basis. We tailor content for each audience. To inquire, email herpower@mymdrc.org.
Teen Girls with Disabilities and Assistive Technology
A workshop for teen girls with disabilities and their allies about assistive technology girls can use in their daily lives — including topics that aren’t always easy to talk about, like handling your period, putting on a bra, and painting your nails. Previously offered as a two-hour virtual session with ASL interpreters and CART provided.
Her Power! Youth Lounges: Transracial Adoptee and Foster Care Youth
A virtual space for teen girls with disabilities who are adoptees or in foster care. Facilitated by a transracial adoptee, these lounges focus on making friends, normalizing shared experiences, and modeling positive, empowering, adoptee-centric language and storytelling.
Her Power! Retreat for Leaders, Mentors & Changemakers
A retreat-style training for women with disabilities who mentor and support teen and middle school girls. Participants experience core Her Power! curriculum firsthand while building their own leadership voice. Topics include disability pride, media literacy, leadership development, disability history, community building, and teen mentorship strategies. Available as a multi-day retreat, a series of shorter sessions, or adapted to your format — valuable for any organization running a girls’ program.
Raising Children with Disabilities: With Disability Pride
A weekend retreat for parents of children with disabilities. The program challenges societal stereotypes and oppression while giving parents tools in disability history, culture, and pride to support their child’s self-empowerment and belonging.
The Intersection of Transracial Adoption & Racial (In)Justice
An interactive workshop for transracial adoptive families and their communities — family, friends, neighbors, church communities, and coworkers. Covers racial norms in America, racism in child welfare, and strategies for interrupting adoption-related microaggressions.
